Xpeng L03 spotted in Malaysia as rival to BYD Atto 3 and Proton eMas 7, with up to 520 km WLTP range
By Eve
A video posted on Threads shows the Xpeng L03 electric SUV in Malaysia, the second new Xpeng model seen there in recent weeks after the larger L05 was spied testing in Bukit Raja last month, according to a 5 November 2026 report. At 4,650 mm long, it is longer than the Proton eMas 7 (4,615 mm) and BYD Atto 3 (4,455 mm), with estimated Thai pricing from 899,000 baht (about RM110,300) and an Australian starting price of AUD41,900 (about RM121k). Xpeng said in May it would bring one compact, one mid sized and one large SUV to right hand drive markets this year, with the G9L tipped for a Thailand launch on 11 November.
Why it matters
A further Chinese brand lining up compact and mid sized SUVs against the Atto 3 and eMas 7 points to a more crowded Malaysian EV market, which could widen the base of vehicles using public charging. CPOs and site planners may want to watch how quickly Xpeng's local launches follow the spotted test cars.

XPeng passes 10,000 deliveries in France two years after launch, but trails BYD, MG and Jaecoo
XPeng says it has delivered more than 10,000 electric cars in France since arriving in 2024, according to a French-language report. NGC-Data figures show 6,254 registrations between January and October 2026, up 154.12% year on year, led by the G6 with 4,858 units, then the G9 with 1,148 and the P7+ with 248. The same report notes that XPeng remains well behind BYD, MG and newcomer Jaecoo, and that some buyers have switched from Tesla.
Why it matters
A fast-growing Chinese brand adding thousands of fast-charging-capable cars a year expands the demand base for public rapid charging in France, though volumes remain modest next to the market leaders. CPOs and procurement teams should treat XPeng as a rising but still niche driver segment, with the G6 dominating the mix.
BYD builds its 3,000th electric bus for the UK market and debuts the C12 DUO coach
BYD has built its 3,000th pure electric bus for the UK, a single-deck B11 from an order for First Bus, completed at its Hangzhou plant. The company says the milestone follows more than a decade of work with British operators, starting with the first single-deck and double-deck electric buses in London. BYD describes an offer spanning vehicles, charging infrastructure, depot support, financing and aftersales, backed by a dedicated local team.
Why it matters
A supplier that bundles vehicles, charging, depot support and financing can shape how depot charging projects are specified and procured. CPOs and installers working with bus operators should expect integrated offers from OEMs to compete with standalone charging contracts.
BYD expands Australian parts network to four hubs as local fleet passes 150,000 cars
BYD says it has sold more than 150,000 cars in Australia over four years of local deliveries, and has now expanded its parts and distribution network to four major hubs. The largest, in Melbourne's outer west, covers 15,000 square metres and operates in partnership with SF Express. Across the four sites BYD holds more than 500,000 parts, valued at over $25 million, with 95% deliverable to local dealers within 24 hours, two to three days for interstate dealers and within a week for regional dealers.
Why it matters
A fast-growing EV fleet of this size raises demand for servicing and parts support, and BYD's local inventory and delivery times set a benchmark for uptime expectations. For CPOs and fleet buyers in Australia, quicker parts availability for BYD vehicles may help reduce downtime and support confidence in electrifying fleets.
