The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation has secured $450,000 from the New York Power Authority to launch a workforce training programme focused on maintaining and repairing EV charging infrastructure. Delivered with SmarterHelp, a spin-off from ChargerHelp, the part-time course will start later in 2026 at a new Smart Lab fitted with charging units and will lead to industry credentials and job placements. New York Power Authority President Justin E. Driscoll said trained technicians are critical as the state expands its charging network.
