ChargeLab and ChargerHelp have formed a reseller partnership targeting 99% uptime for public EV charging stations across the US, capping annual downtime at around 87.6 hours per charger. The deal combines ChargeLab's remote diagnostics and charging station management system, which claims a 99.9% Tier 1 resolution rate, with ChargerHelp's EMPWR platform for field technician dispatch when remote fixes fail. The partnership addresses a sector where 14% of charging attempts currently fail, according to J.D. Power 2025 data.
Why it matters: For CPOs and procurement teams, the joint service model offers a single contract route to near total uptime, potentially reducing the operational complexity and vendor coordination that has kept US public charging reliability below 90%. The OCPP integration and hardware diagnostic access may set a new baseline for maintenance SLAs in tender specifications.
