GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company, and IRCLASS Systems and Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (ISSPL) have finished the first batch of cybersecurity audits for electric buses operated by Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Corporation (AMTC). The newly secured fleet was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on 13 February 2026. The audits used structured grey box penetration testing aligned with ISO/SAE 21434 principles to assess cyber risks across operational, financial and safety critical systems in BRT compatible Midi AC electric buses equipped with Intelligent Transport Systems, including GPS based Automatic Vehicle Location Systems, Passenger Information Systems, CCTV surveillance and automated run kilometre tracking.
Why it matters: The audit sets a precedent for cybersecurity requirements in Indian municipal EV bus procurements, particularly for fleets with integrated backend platforms. Operators and suppliers bidding on connected transit projects may face similar validation demands as states prioritise secure, technology driven public transport.
