SP Mobility has launched Singapore's first fast charging hub in a Housing and Development Board car park in Tengah, featuring 14 charging points: eight DC fast chargers at up to 100 kW and six AC chargers at 7.4 kW. The facility, serving residential blocks 123 and 129 beside Plantation Plaza, opened on 16 May with AC charging priced at S$0.628 per kWh and DC at S$0.726 per kWh, matching SP Mobility's rates at other HDB sites. A 10 per cent launch discount ran from 16 to 20 May.
Why it matters: The deployment marks a template for integrating high power charging into public housing estates, where most Singaporeans live, potentially accelerating residential EV adoption. For charge point operators, the HDB partnership model and published tariff structure offer a benchmark for future social housing tenders across the city state.
