The City of Mississauga has secured 14.3 million dollars in joint federal and provincial funding through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program to support zero emission transit and cycling infrastructure. The funding includes 5.75 million dollars federal and 4.79 million dollars provincial for modifications to three MiWay bus depots to accommodate battery electric buses, including charging infrastructure and electrical system enhancements. A matching allocation of 5.75 million dollars federal and 4.79 million dollars provincial will fund planning and preliminary design for about eight kilometres of new cycling infrastructure on routes including Aquitaine Avenue, Argentia Road and Millcreek Drive.
