Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has paused plans to expand its EV charging network beyond 40 operational stations, shelving earlier targets of 82 and ultimately 500 sites, after revenue fell short of expectations. The rollout was part of Maharashtra's 2021 Electric Vehicle Policy aimed at promoting EV adoption. PMC, which operates over 1,300 vehicles and intended to electrify its fleet in stages, will review future expansion only if usage of existing stations improves.
