McDonald's Pakistan and StarCharge sign agreement to explore EV charging network at outlets
McDonald's Pakistan and China's StarCharge have signed a cooperation agreement to assess the installation of EV charging stations at selected McDonald's outlets nationwide. The partnership, announced at a ceremony attended by Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain in Islamabad on Monday, will evaluate potential locations for technical suitability, infrastructure requirements and commercial viability. The agreement does not confirm immediate installation, with both companies first conducting feasibility studies for the proposed network.
Why it matters
The partnership signals potential new charging site opportunities in Pakistan's developing EV market, combining a major retail footprint with Chinese charging technology. For CPOs and suppliers, the feasibility phase offers early visibility into a possible nationwide rollout that could shape Pakistan's public charging infrastructure.
