ChargePoint has partnered with European direct payments provider Cariqa to enable charge point operators using the be.ENERGISED platform to offer QR code based payment. Drivers can scan a code and pay via Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit card or PayPal without downloading an app, registering an account or using a charging card. The solution can be white labelled in the CPO's own branding.
Why it matters: The partnership gives CPOs on ChargePoint's platform a turnkey way to reduce payment friction and driver drop off at the point of charge, potentially improving utilisation and revenue from existing hardware as the European market matures.
