ChargeIndia launched on World EV Day (9 September) as a unified app covering more than 40 charge point operators in over 1,200 cities across India. The platform integrates discovery, availability checks, route planning and payment via India's UPI instant payment system, removing the need for multiple operator apps or prepaid wallets. The launch comes as electric car registrations in India rose 82% year on year in July 2026, reaching 8% of new passenger car sales.
