Geely has begun rolling out ultra-fast EV charging infrastructure in China, with its AI-enabled system delivering 2,250kW peak power and charging select vehicles from 10% to 70% in four and a half minutes. The company has installed units in five cities and aims to deploy more than 50,000 charging guns across China by the end of 2027, including over 15,000 Smart Charge units. The technology claims up to 20% longer battery life by predicting overheating, joining BYD's 1,500kW system in the megawatt charging space as China accelerates infrastructure development ahead of the US, where 750kW stations are scheduled for 2027.
