Ionage raises $1.3 million to expand EV charging platform across India
Indian EV charging and energy management startup Ionage has secured $1.3 million in pre-Series A funding from strategic investors and energy sector executives. The company, which has onboarded more than 25,000 four-wheeler charging points and works with 75 charging partners across 33 states and Union Territories, will use the capital to expand coverage to 100% of active EV charging networks in India and help small and medium-sized CPOs establish and manage stations more efficiently. Ionage claims its platform operates on more than 70% of India's charging hardware and addresses infrastructure gaps including the fact that nearly two in five public chargers in India are non-functional at any given time.

The funding highlights investor confidence in software platforms that can improve charger reliability and interoperability for CPOs in India, where the ratio stands at one charger for every 235 EVs in 2025. For procurement teams and operators, Ionage's focus on helping small and medium-sized CPOs manage stations more efficiently could lower barriers to market entry and improve network uptime.
