Madurai to prepare five-year City EV Implementation Plan covering charging locations and grid impact
Madurai city corporation, with Guidance Tamil Nadu and ITDP India, held a one-day workshop for the city-level EV Cell on Saturday, attended by nearly 60 officials from government departments, educational institutions and private associations. The five-year plan will identify suitable charging station locations, assess the grid impact of rising EV adoption and prioritise projects with clear timelines and departmental responsibilities. Guidance Tamil Nadu's Executive Director said the state has attracted investments worth Rs 30,000 crore and generated 1.5 lakh jobs through its EV ecosystem, as reported by the Times of India.
