New Energy Transport has taken delivery of the first two Windrose electric prime movers sold in Australia, which will enter full time operation in a few weeks running daily heavy freight between Sydney and Canberra. The trucks can cover more than 600 kilometres with a fully loaded trailer on a single charge. NET announced in June plans to deploy 20 electric prime movers on routes between Sydney and regional centres including Newcastle, Wollongong and Canberra after securing 5 million dollars in funding, supported by six mobile ultra fast charging units and a charging hub under construction in Wilton, south of Sydney.
