Tesla and YPF to build supercharger network across Argentina's main road corridors
Tesla and Argentine oil company YPF have agreed to deploy a fast charging network along national routes, starting with corridors linking Buenos Aires to Mar del Plata and Rosario. Tesla will finance equipment installation while YPF will supply power through its YPF Luz division. The rollout is planned in two phases to connect major urban and tourist centres, addressing the lack of fast charging infrastructure outside Argentina's cities.
Why it matters
The deal establishes a clear financing and delivery model for intercity charging in a market where infrastructure gaps have limited EV adoption. CPOs and equipment suppliers may find opportunities as the network expands beyond the initial corridors.
