Tesla SpaceX merger talk resurfaces as BYD pledges to become world number one in five years
Reports in Korean outlet 디지털투데이 highlight renewed speculation about a potential Tesla and SpaceX merger, alongside BYD's public commitment to become the world's top automaker within five years. The story frames the two developments as defining the next phase of global EV and mobility competition between the United States and China.
Why it matters
BYD's aggressive growth target signals intensifying competition in EV manufacturing and, by extension, charging ecosystem partnerships globally, while any Tesla corporate restructuring could reshape its Supercharger network strategy and third party access plans.

The Mobility House sells fleet electrification unit to Edenred, refocuses on energy markets and V2G
The Mobility House has agreed to sell its fleet electrification business unit, The Mobility House Solutions, to mobility services provider Edenred, with the transaction expected to complete in the third quarter of 2026. The unit serves more than 5,000 customers, operates over 2,500 actively managed fleet depots, and employs around 60 staff. The sale allows The Mobility House to concentrate on energy markets and vehicle to grid technology, while it continues partnerships in the bus sector and projects in cities including Amsterdam, New York and San Diego.
Why it matters
The divestment signals a strategic pivot by a major charging infrastructure player away from turnkey fleet solutions towards grid integration and V2G services, potentially reshaping competitive dynamics in the commercial charging market. Procurement teams working with The Mobility House on fleet projects will need to understand the transition to Edenred ownership and any changes to service delivery or contract terms.
