Peterborough approves revised 10-bay EV charging hub at former car wash site
Peterborough City Council has granted final planning permission for a 10-bay EV charging hub at Parkway Sports and Social Club, replacing a hand car wash. Moreco Investments Ltd secured approval in August after resubmitting plans in June with design changes including revised layout, updated charging equipment specifications, a new power cabinet, and removal of inter-bay landscaping and canopies. The site will feature five charging units serving 10 bays, including two PAS-compliant accessible bays, with 24/7 operation and pedestrian links to Boulevard Retail Park.

Southend replaces Alexandra Street car park chargers under £1.4 million LEVI scheme with Zest
Southend City Council has installed new electric vehicle chargers at Alexandra Street Car Park, operated by Zest, replacing previous infrastructure. The deployment is part of the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure programme, one of the largest local charging schemes in the UK, backed by £1.4 million in government funding and Zest investment at no cost to the council. The chargers are now live and support the council's ambition to be a leading green city.
