Wisconsin awards 25 million dollars for 42 DC fast charging stations across 42 communities

Wisconsin's Department of Transportation is distributing 25 million dollars in federal NEVI funding to install 42 new DC fast charging stations in communities from Sturgeon Bay to Prairie du Chien. Each station must have at least four CCS ports delivering 150 kW simultaneously, adding a minimum of 168 fast charging ports statewide. Host sites include Kwik Trip forecourts, hotels, a Woodman's grocery store and other businesses, with chargers supplied by Autel, Gilbarco and Tesla.

Why it matters

The procurement completes Wisconsin's NEVI corridor buildout and shifts deployment onto US and state highways, opening opportunities for CPOs and equipment suppliers in smaller communities. With 93 per cent of existing Wisconsin chargers already offering NACS connectors, site hosts and installers will need dual standard hardware to meet driver expectations and maximise utilisation.

Green Water & Power and Autel Energy pass 10,000 chargers installed across US since 2023

Green Water & Power has deployed more than 10,000 Autel Energy chargers nationwide since 2023, making it Autel's largest buyer. The network spans hotels, apartments, retail centres, schools, medical facilities and fleet operations across twelve states, delivering 16.6 million kWh to date with 99.72% uptime and avoiding approximately 23,000 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions. The multi year partnership was announced in September 2026.

Why it matters

The 99.72% uptime figure offers a procurement benchmark for commercial site operators evaluating hardware reliability and service standards. GWP's position as Autel's largest buyer signals volume pricing leverage and a proven deployment model across diverse property types.

Seventh annual Southeast transport electrification report tracks manufacturing, sales and charging deployment across six states

The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and Atlas Public Policy have published their 2026 Transportation Electrification in the Southeast Report, covering Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The study examines six market indicators: manufacturing investment, jobs, EV sales, charging station deployment, utility investments and public funding. A webinar on the findings is scheduled for 10 September at 11 AM ET.

Why it matters

The report provides procurement teams and charge point operators with regional data on charging infrastructure rollout and utility investment patterns across a six state area. Tracking deployment trends and public funding flows helps CPOs identify market opportunities and competitive dynamics in the Southeast.
