BYD unveils Qin Max EV with Flash Charging for Chinese market

BYD has previewed the Qin Max, a new B-segment electric sedan positioned above the Qin L and aimed at younger buyers in China. The model will feature BYD's Blade Batteries 2.0 and Flash Charging technology, which can recharge from 10% to 97% in nine minutes and from 10% to 70% in five minutes. The vehicle measures 4,866 mm long with a 2,790 mm wheelbase and has received approval for sale from China's MIIT.
Why it matters: The Qin Max's ultra-fast charging capability sets a new benchmark for public charging infrastructure requirements in China, where CPOs will need to deploy higher power equipment to support sub-10-minute charging sessions.
