ChargePoint launches Premier Care and Support Portal for charge-point operators

By Eve

ChargePoint has introduced two new management solutions for station owners: Premier Care, a white-glove service offering revenue reports, proactive tracking, network optimisation and dedicated expert support for large or complex portfolios; and the Support Portal, a self-service hub included with all ChargePoint Cloud Plan subscriptions to help operators resolve technical issues independently. Chief Customer Experience Officer J.D. Singh said the offerings bookend ChargePoint's service range, with Premier Care for businesses seeking full operational support and the Support Portal for those preferring self-management.

Why it matters

The tiered service model gives CPOs flexibility to match support levels to their operational scale and in-house capability, potentially lowering total cost of ownership for smaller operators while offering enterprise-grade management for large fleets. Both tools aim to reduce downtime and improve charger uptime, a key metric in procurement tenders and concession agreements.

EVgo rises 10% and Blink Charging gains 6% as ChargePoint falls 5% in U.S. trading rotation

EVgo stock climbed 10% to $1.39 and Blink Charging advanced 6% to $0.56 in afternoon trading, while ChargePoint declined 5% to $9.66, reversing the pattern from September when ChargePoint outperformed both rivals. The moves occurred as the S&P 500 gained 0.7%, with EVgo and Blink outpacing the broader market. The shift represents a rotation within the small cluster of U.S. listed EV charging stocks.

Why it matters

The divergent performance among the three major U.S. listed charging operators signals shifting investor sentiment within the sector, potentially reflecting differing views on near term execution or contract momentum. For procurement teams tracking public market signals, the rotation away from ChargePoint after its September strength may indicate changing expectations around competitive positioning or financial performance.

Shell Card adds Source ultra-rapid hubs to UK roaming network

Shell Fleet Solutions has integrated Source's UK ultra-rapid charging hubs into the Shell Card roaming network, giving fleet customers access to sites featuring at least 150kW chargers. Source operates more than half a dozen roaming partnerships and plans to open 300 ultra-rapid hubs across the UK and Ireland by 2030, all targeting 99% uptime and powered by renewable energy. Shell Card already provides access to over 72,000 public charge points across the UK.

Why it matters

The deal expands procurement options for fleet operators using Shell Card while reinforcing the commercial case for Source's hub rollout through guaranteed fleet demand. For CPOs, the partnership highlights how roaming agreements with major fuel card networks can accelerate utilisation at new ultra-rapid sites.

Brighton and Hove switches 500 on-street chargepoints to Believ and Char.gy, cuts tariffs

Brighton and Hove City Council is transferring 500 existing on-street chargepoints from Blink Charging UK to Believ and Char.gy from 15 October, bringing lower rates for overnight standard charging and all fast and rapid sessions. The council has installed 500 new chargepoints since March, plans a further 600 in the next six months, and will begin deploying 50 new rapid chargers in October. A separate trial will test pavement gullies for 200 households to run home charging cables.

Why it matters

The operator handover shows councils actively re-tendering to improve pricing and service for residents, while the 1,100 unit pipeline and 50 rapid rollout signal sustained capital deployment. Procurement teams and CPOs should note the shift toward dual-operator models and the emerging interest in kerb-side cable infrastructure as councils seek to close the home-charging gap.
