Emobi raises $3.4 million to expand ISO 15118 JustPlug charging technology

Florida Funders led a $3.4 million seed round for Emobi, which will use the capital to scale its JustPlug seamless charging solution. The system extends ISO 15118 Plug and Charge functionality to legacy infrastructure, addressing the fact that around 80% of existing chargers and vehicles lack the hardware and firmware for traditional Plug and Charge. JustPlug uses cloud-based authentication via ISO 15118 digital certificates, requiring no special hardware or software setup.
Why it matters: The funding supports a technology that could unlock automatic authentication and payment across the installed base of chargers, reducing friction for fleet operators and CPOs managing mixed vehicle and infrastructure portfolios.
