Acamir opens €30.4 million tender for 31 nine metre electric buses in Campania

By Eve

Italy's Campania Regional Agency for Mobility, Infrastructure and Networks (Acamir) has launched a €30.4 million framework tender for the supply of 31 battery electric buses measuring nine metres in length. The Class I vehicles are part of the region's fleet renewal programme and are financed through Italy's National Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility and Ministerial Decree 81/2020. Acamir procures the buses on behalf of Campania Region, which retains ownership before assigning them to local public transport operators.

Why it matters: The tender represents a mid sized procurement opportunity for bus manufacturers specialising in compact electric vehicles for urban and regional routes in southern Italy. It also signals continued public investment in zero emission public transport under national sustainability funding streams.
