JCT600 opens its first Kia Platform Beyond Vehicle dealership in Doncaster

By Eve

JCT600 has opened its first Kia Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) dealership on Wheatley Hall Road, Doncaster, sharing premises with JCT600 Changan Doncaster and the group's JCT600 Approved used vehicle outlet. The site will serve business and fleet customers across Doncaster and South Yorkshire, and will offer Kia's PV5 electric van in Cargo and Passenger configurations, the latter also available through the Motability scheme. It is JCT600's second light commercial vehicle franchise, alongside Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, for which the group runs five Van Centres.

Why it matters

A new dealer channel for purpose-built electric vans in South Yorkshire points to growing local fleet adoption, which is likely to create demand for depot and workplace charging. CPOs and installers serving business customers in the region may find new opportunities among fleets making the switch.

Kia reports third quarter 2026 electric vehicle retail sales of about 123,000 units, up 75.4%

Kia published its third quarter 2026 results on 30 October, reporting global retail sales of around 123,000 fully electric vehicles, a rise of 75.4%. Its broader electrified total, which also counts conventional hybrids and plug in hybrids, reached around 300,000 vehicles, up 47%. The source warns that circulating percentages mix these two categories with a separate regional increase in Western Europe, and that the battery electric figure is not broken down by model or market.

Why it matters

Strong global growth in Kia's fully electric retail sales points to a larger fleet of its EVs needing charging, though the figures give no market level detail for planning local deployment. CPOs should use the 123,000 battery electric figure rather than the wider electrified total when gauging demand for charging.

Rivian ships nearly 20,000 vehicles in Q3 2026 and narrows losses, but remains unprofitable

Rivian reported third quarter 2026 consolidated revenue of US$2.155 billion, up 38% year on year, with consolidated gross profit of US$176 million, a US$152 million improvement. Net loss attributable to common stockholders fell to US$913 million from US$1.173 billion, and adjusted net loss per share was US$0.48 against US$0.65. The company shipped nearly 20,000 vehicles from Normal, Illinois, and revised its delivery prediction to between 67,000 and 70,000 vehicles, as reported by EVNews's source coverage of the results.

Why it matters

Rising vehicle volumes alongside continued heavy losses show that US EV demand remains under pressure, which shapes the pace of charger utilisation growth that CPOs and their funders can expect. Procurement teams should note that Rivian's improved automotive gross loss of US$80 million still depends partly on regulatory credit revenue, so the outlook for US policy support matters.

BYD Atto 3 Evo compared with Renault Scenic E Tech as Renault updates its battery and range

A French-language comparison puts the facelifted BYD Atto 3 Evo, whose specification now matches its rivals, against the Renault Scenic E Tech. Between writing and publication, Renault presented an updated Scenic whose top version moves from an 87 kWh to an 89 kWh battery, with WLTP range rising from 625 to 642 km and consumption unchanged. The article says charging also differs on the new version, but the excerpt does not give the figures.

Why it matters

Two of the main compact electric SUV rivals in France are changing their specifications, and the Scenic's charging behaviour is changing with its battery. Procurement and CPO teams should watch for the detailed charging figures, as they affect how these vehicles use sites.
