Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area launch joint working group to harmonise EV charging infrastructure

By Eve

The Joint Working Group on Promoting Interconnectivity of Charging Facilities in the Greater Bay Area held its inaugural meeting, bringing together officials from Hong Kong and mainland China. The group aims to improve cross-border compatibility and access to EV charging networks across the region. The initiative was announced via Hong Kong's government information portal.

Why it matters: Standardising charging infrastructure across the Greater Bay Area could unlock procurement opportunities for interoperable systems and create a larger, unified market for CPOs operating in Hong Kong and southern China.
