Proton to launch branded public DC chargers in Malaysia in 2026

Proton New Energy Technology (Pro-Net) plans to roll out Proton-branded public DC fast chargers in Malaysia this year, separate from existing dealership installations, according to chief branding officer Salawati Mohd Yusoff. The carmaker has invested RM40 million in its telematics service provider ecosystem and RM4 million in a live charging map application, with current charging partners covering more than 600 high-rise locations at rates from RM0.63 per kWh for Proton eMas owners. The announcement was made on the Jangan Kecam podcast in August 2026.
