Western Australia awards $9.6 million Jandakot depot contract as 100th electric bus enters service

The Public Transport Authority of Western Australia has awarded JET Charge a $9.6 million contract to install charging infrastructure for up to 90 electric buses at the Jandakot Transperth depot, with works starting early next year and buses entering service from late 2026. The state has now deployed 100 electric buses across its Transperth network, with electric operations already running from Joondalup, Elizabeth Quay and Malaga depots, and Karrinyup due to start in early 2026. Jandakot will be the fifth depot equipped with EV charging, while construction continues on a new Bayswater facility and plans advance for Claisebrook upgrades.
