Wallbox deploys Supernova fast-charging system in Spain for first time

By Eve

Spanish EV charging infrastructure firm Wallbox has deployed its Supernova PowerRing fast-charging system in Barcelona, marking the first operational installation of the product introduced in late 2025. The site at Port de Sitges comprises three Supernova chargers with a shared dynamic capacity of up to 204 kW once fully enabled, automatically allocating between 80 kW and 240 kW per vehicle based on demand and vehicle compatibility. The Supernova PowerRing architecture can deliver up to 400 kW to a single vehicle and support system capacity reaching 720 kW.

Why it matters: The deployment demonstrates Wallbox's dynamic power-sharing technology designed to help CPOs scale fast-charging infrastructure more efficiently while optimising grid capacity use. The architecture's ability to allocate power flexibly across multiple chargers addresses a key procurement consideration for operators managing high-traffic sites with variable demand.
