DeepWay electric trucks enter Malaysia with 400 km range and RM750,000 starting price, December 2026 delivery

Chinese EV truck maker DeepWay, backed by Baidu and China Lionbridge, has launched battery electric heavy duty trucks in Malaysia through distributor Tiong Wang, with prices starting from RM750,000. The trucks are offered in three variants with battery capacities of 513 kWh or 600 kWh, delivering up to 400 km range, and have received vehicle type approval for December 2026 road deployment. Logistics firm Tiong Nam has ordered 20 units, marking the first confirmed customer for the Tesla Semi rival in the Malaysian market.

Why it matters

The entry of Baidu backed DeepWay trucks into Malaysia with confirmed fleet orders signals growing competition in the heavy duty EV segment and potential demand for high power charging infrastructure capable of serving 513 kWh to 600 kWh battery packs. CPOs and charge point planners will need to assess depot and en route charging requirements for commercial fleets as logistics operators begin electrifying heavy goods vehicle operations in Southeast Asia.
