Miele orders 840 Volkswagen e-Transporter vans to electrify its European service fleet
Miele has partnered with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to add 840 battery-electric vans to its European service fleet, with just over half to be deployed in Germany and the remainder serving domestic and commercial customers across Europe. The vans are fitted with Sortimo vehicle racking. Almost all of the 420 staff in the Professional Customer Service unit are moving to battery-electric vans, while electric vehicles make up 30% of the Domestic Customer Service fleet, with further increases planned.
Why it matters
A large service fleet moving to electric vans points to growing demand for depot and home charging, as well as public top-up charging, across Germany and wider Europe. For CPOs and installers, fleets of this kind are a source of recurring, predictable charging demand and potential multi-site contracts.
