Elonroad, NTU Singapore, ALBA W&H Smart City and Scania sign MOU to test automatic charging for electric heavy vehicles

Elonroad, NTU Singapore's Energy Research Institute (ERI@N), ALBA W&H Smart City and Scania have signed a memorandum of understanding to evaluate automatic conductive stationary charging for electric heavy vehicles in Singapore. ERI@N will provide research and compatibility testing, ALBA W&H Smart City will supply the operational environment, and Scania will support installation on its vehicles. The news was reported on 30 October 2026 by Charles Morris, and the aim is to assess how Elonroad's technology can be integrated into logistics operations.

Why it matters

Automatic conductive charging could reduce manual handling and depot dwell friction for heavy fleets, so the trial is worth watching for future tender specifications. For CPOs and fleet buyers, results from a real logistics setting in Singapore may inform how such systems are validated and certified. No figures on scale, timeline or cost have been disclosed.
