eNEG Mobility develops Rs 4.5 lakh electric taxi with battery subscription model for Indian fleets
Ahmedabad-based startup eNEG Mobility is developing a five-seat electric mini-SUV taxi with a targeted price of Rs 4.5 lakh excluding the battery, or a proposed on-road price of Rs 6.49 lakh with the battery. It is targeting a 300 to 320 km range from a 30 to 32 kWh LFP battery, a 50 kW motor, and DC fast charging of about 27 minutes from 10% to 80%. The company says these are development targets and final specifications may change before commercial introduction.
Why it matters
A battery subscription model that cuts upfront vehicle cost could widen EV uptake among Indian shared mobility fleet operators, creating future demand for depot and fast charging. Charging operators should note that the figures are unconfirmed targets and the vehicle is not yet commercially available.
