Florida public agencies can buy EV charging hardware through Verdek's cooperative purchasing program

Verdek has renewed its contract under the Florida Sheriffs Association Cooperative Purchasing Program (FSA26-PWR5.0), allowing Florida state and local agencies, municipalities and school districts to procure EV charging equipment without separate RFPs. The product lineup includes Level 2 chargers from Autel and ChargePoint, DC fast chargers from ABB, Autel, ChargePoint, Samsung, Tesla and Tritium, portable charging from Charge Rigs and Lincoln Electric, and ampUp management software, with the Tesla V4 Supercharger now added to the available options.

Why it matters

The cooperative purchasing framework streamlines procurement for Florida public bodies by offering pre-qualified vendors and standardised hardware choices, reducing administrative burden and accelerating deployment timelines. The inclusion of Tesla V4 Superchargers expands fast charging options for agencies planning fleet electrification or public infrastructure projects.

WiTricity opens Florida R&D facility for autonomous wireless EV charging

US wireless charging firm WiTricity has opened a research and development site in Stuart, Florida, after relocating from Massachusetts. The facility will support customisable medium duty wireless charging solutions spanning 7.2kW to 50kW, plus heavy duty fleet charging above 75kW. WiTricity's magnetic coupling technology enables automated charging for passenger EVs, autonomous vehicles, robotaxis and last mile fleets without human intervention.

Why it matters

The expanded R&D capacity signals growing commercial readiness for wireless charging in fleet and autonomous vehicle segments, where automated charging removes operational friction. Procurement teams evaluating depot or robotaxi infrastructure may now access more tailored medium and heavy duty wireless solutions from a US based supplier.
