Kempower and PowerUp America open first of 12 fast charging sites in Southeast US
By Eve
Kempower and charge point operator PowerUp America have launched a public DC fast charging station in Manchester, Kentucky, the first of 12 projects the companies are building together across the Southeast. The Manchester site features four Kempower Flex Satellite chargers offering up to 800 kW of available power with both NACS and CCS1 connectors, plus pull through spaces and covered canopies. The remaining 11 sites are under development in Georgia.
Why it matters: The 12 site rollout demonstrates a regional deployment strategy targeting areas with historically limited public fast charging infrastructure. The use of dual connector Kempower hardware and design features like pull through bays signals a focus on serving mixed vehicle types including commercial and towing use cases.
